The Deseret News was first published on June 15, 1850, less than three years after the Mormon pioneers arrived in the Salt Lake Valley.  It is the longest continuously operating business in the state of Utah and the third longest continuously operating newspaper west of the Mississippi.

Today you can access Deseret News content through our print paper (both inside and outside Utah), on our website at DeseretNews.com and with our mobile apps.

While the format of the Deseret News has evolved, we remain committed to providing you with reliable, insightful content about many issues, especially those that affect faith and families.

As part of this commitment, we spend each day creating new content and tools that provide you with the information you need when and where you need it. If you’re looking to get the inside scoop on our latest projects, this blog is the place to be. We’ll introduce you to the people behind the headlines and HTML. We’ll explain changes and ask for your input, and we’ll give you a deeper understanding of our mission.

We hope you’ll visit this blog often, and we look forward to talking with you.
